Dear CHS Upper School Parents and Students,
I pray this finds you enjoying a wonderful summer.
I am writing to share some important information on dates, coaches, and other details for the fall sports teams.
All paperwork must be filled out and on file with the school prior to any tryout or participation. There are no exceptions to this. The Athletic Paperwork will be electronic and completed via ParentWeb this year, instructions below. We need to have an up to date physical that has occurred within the last 13 months on file with the School Nurse. Kindly use the State Health Form for this purpose. It is your responsibility to have this confirmed before tryouts begin.
- varsity sports tryouts will begin the week of August 19th. The following are the scheduled days the tryouts will occur and the appropriate coaches. Times are all posted on the Athletic calendar, please visit here: https://www.rschoolconnecticut.org/public/genie/1043/school/1480/date/2019-7-16/view/day/
Kindly reach out to these coaches directly if you have any questions. Students are expected to attend all days of tryouts. There will be practices the entire week for those that make varsity and junior varsity teams.
Both Middle School Soccer teams will begin their tryouts after Labor Day. Coach Young Kwon will be coaching the MS Girls again. Coach Devon Patton will return for the MS Boys.
In addition to the dates, I would like to pass on a little information about additional athletic expenses. We have posted on our athletic website the additional expenses for participating in a sport at CHS. The Varsity Soccer and Volleyball teams will be wearing the same practice gear as last fall. Athletes who already own last year’s practice uniform will not need to purchase a new one. Additional practice shirts can be purchased. Middle School Soccer teams will continue wearing practice gear issued by CHS. They will be receiving 2 practice shirts and a pair of practice shorts which must be worn for every practice. The gear will be billed through SMART Tuition and will be billed once the teams are formed.
The Athletic Paperwork is completed on ParentWeb by a parent/custodian. Once you are logged into your account, you can go to WebForms on the left hand side. Once it opens, click on the Permission to Participate in Athletics 19-20. You will need to review some items on the Athletic Website to be able to sign off that you have read and understand them.
I am looking forward to a great year!
GO KINGSMEN!
